KMcAwesome - 1. I tend to Google things like "creating static Blogger pages" and then following the instructions of other bloggers who were nice enough to document the basic html needed to alter the out-of-the-box templates. It's a learning curve. But keep in mind you can always Preview your changes to a template before saving them and revert back to your existing template if you don't like it or screw it up. 2. No, your counter will not start over by switching a template. It's just changing your design. Everything else (gadgets, counter, etc.) will stay the same.

I like this better than your previous one. I personally am not a fan of reading white or light colored text on a black or dark background. It wouldn't prevent me from visiting a blog I enjoyed though.

I think your "Freak Show" theme is good, but not being from NY, I wouldn't know where this is from (just FYI), and I have to look closely to see that it's a photograph. It looks great though!
