Is it just me or does this freak you the hell out?...

Don't ask me where I got this, but every time I look at it a cold shiver passes down my spine...

Just a quick note to keep you in the loop and let you know that I'm alive. Whew, right?!

A lot went down these last weeks. I got married at city hall. I left for Mexico to go on my "weddingmoon" where we had a wonderful time and had our "spiritual ceremony" with a true Aztec shaman. And then we received news from home halfway through the trip. We had to cut our trip short because my mother-in-law was slipping away.

She's been battling cancer for the past year and a half, and we knew the end was near when we left for Mexico. We were originally going to get married in April, but she'd asked us to move it up so that she had a better chance of being around for it, whether she could physically make it there or not.

So we raced back to NYC and arrived at home 30 minutes after she'd passed. While this immediately may seem sad, we were happy to at least be with the rest of the family at that time. We stayed out in NJ for the following week to help with logistical matters and to provide/receive emotional support.

I will tell you so much more about all of this: the trip, my wonderful mother-in-law and her battle, and about how I had to miss a night out with VodkaMom, Elise, Traci and Marinka (devastating, I know).

I hope you all are well, and I can't wait to get caught up on your blogs soon.

  3. Sass - Im actually a friend of Mr. T's brother and was so sorry to hear of your loss .. as much as a family can prepare for it, it's still never easy when it happens. On a lighter note, CONGRATS on your nuptials and I'm glad you're back!
